CONCACAF Champions League Officially Launched. CONCACAF announced the official launch of the new continental club championship, the CONCACAF Champions League which will commence in August 2008. The CONCACAF Champions League will replace the Champions' Cup.

UEFA CL


Fiorentina won it's Champions League opening leg qualifier vs SK Slavia Praha 2-0 at home.

CONCACAF CL

The CONCACAF Champions League 08-09 is taking shape. The replacement for the CONCACAF Champions Cup will begin play in August and end with the final in May.
For the four MLS entrants, the 2007 season records are used.

FA Cup
    It's Portsmouth defeats Cardiff 1-0 on Kanu's goal to win the FA Cup.
PanPacific Gamba Osaka

    Gamba Osaka defeated the Houston Dynamo to win the new Pan-Pacific Tournament. The LA Galaxy won the consolation game v Sydney FC.
Copa Libertadores
    Ecuadorean champions LDU Quito beat Brasilian club Fluminense on PK's 3-1 after Flu's Neves' hat trick forced extra time. LDU Quito claims its first Copa Libertadores title.
UEFA Cup
    Zenit St Petersburg beat Rangers 2-0 to win the UEFA Cup.
CONCACAF CC  Pachuca



    Pachuca(Mex) beat Saprissa(CRC) 3-2 on aggregate to be crowned as repeat club champion of the Western Hemisphere north of South America(aka CONCACAF) and earn a berth in the FIFA Club World Cup held in Japan in December.
AFC CL

    Defending champion Urawa Red Diamonds is among the 8 clubs remaining in the quarter-final knockout phase of the AFC Champions League. Match days are set for September 17 and 24 for the 1st and 2nd legs respectively. The prize is a trip to Japan in December to meet the other confederation champions at the FIFA World Club Championship.
NA SuperLiga Revs


    New England defeated Houston 6-5 on penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw to win the 2008 N.A. SuperLiga tournament. This is the second trophy within a year for the defending Lamar Hunt US Open Cup champion.

    In 1995 the UEFA InterToto Cup evolved into an alternative qualifying route into the UEFA Cup, as well as allowing clubs who had not qualified for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Cup to experience European club football.
Battery US Open DCU

    The USL-1 Charleston Battery will play MLS club DC United for the 2008 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup trophy on September 3 at RFK in Washington. The Battery defeated the Seattle Sounders on PK's after playing to a 1-1 draw. DC dispatched the defending champion New England 3-1 in a match played at RFK.
